Integrating Nature

At The Canvas, we believe that the design should connect to our inherent need to affiliate with nature in the current corporate built environment.

Understanding, the theory of biophilia, biophilic design recognizes that our species has evolved for more than 90% of its history in the compatible adaptive response to the natural world and not to artificial forces. The need is to remain instrumental to people’s physical and mental health, fitness, and wellbeing.

Simply put, the biophilic design focuses on those aspects of the natural world that have contributed to human health and productivity in the age-old struggle to be fit and survive. We incorporate elements like natural lighting and ventilation, natural landscape features and other features for creating a more productive and healthy built environment for people. At JLL Hyderabad, we have introduced biophilic elements like acoustical lighting made of felt, natural Reindeer Moss, as a sound absorber, natural green elements and installations around through public, private and semi-private spaces with wooden effects.

The Cafeteria planned near the glazing area ensures ample sunlight for the employees to unwind and feel fresh. The project features innovative mediascapes, hot desks, phone booths, activity-based workspaces, discussion booths, recreation area and wellness rooms with the integration of the natural environment.
